What's a progressive jackpot slot?
A progressive jackpot is when the jackpot of the slot is not fixed. The more people that play the game, the higher the jackpot is going to climb. So, if you have a popular progressive slot, then it is not uncommon for the bonus to stretch past a million or so.
Local & Global Progressives
You will find two types of slot; local and global. Global progressives are where every casino that offers the site around the world will be linked. So, let’s say you are playing the Mega Moolah slot (more on that in a short while) in the UK. If somebody is playing Mega Moolah in Australia, it will be contributing to the same jackpot. It does not matter what online casino they are playing at.
Local progressives, which are a bit rarer, have their jackpot linked to the website being played on. So, if the site is not popular, then the progressive jackpot will never get that high.
